Link Popularity
No...it's not another popularity contest. Or, is it?
"Links", or hyperlinks (the "things" on which you click to get to another page), have always been used to navigate from one page of a Web site to another. Prior to 2002 it was unheard of to link your own Web site to a Web site of similar content.
As the Internet develops so do the search engines and their techniques to organize the millions of Web sites listed in their databases. The search engines are responsible for providing search results that most closely match your search. Therefore, the Web sites that have the most relevant content and seem to be very popular are given a better position in the search results.
There are 2 reasons a Web site is found more popular with the search engines:
- The number of visitors to a Web site monthly - traffic
- The number of relevant Web sites that have hyperlinks to that Web site.
Link Popularity cont.
Link popularity has become commonplace for Web sites today. Hyperlinks from other relevant sites to your own Web site will provide an increase in traffic to your Web site. The more hyperlinks to your Web site the higher your traffic. The higher your traffic the more popular your Web site becomes.
Generating hyperlinks from other relevant Web sites to yours means searching the Internet for similar Web sites, contacting the owner (or Webmaster) of that Web site to request they place a "link" from their Web site to your own Web site, and then adding a link to that Web site from yours. This is called a "reciprocal link". It's obvious this can be a very time consuming and tedious task. Especially when you consider that a very low percentage of those you contact will reply, and only a low number of those who reply will reciprocate.
L.T. Creations, LLC. uses specialized software that automates much of the work. We are very adept at using this software for reciprocal links and will also generate custom templates for the program so that the pages of links generated will match the other pages of your site.
